Nanaimo Supportive & Affordable Housing

South-East Perspective

In this feasibility study, RHA created schematic designs for two buildings in Nanaimo’s downtown—one supportive and one affordable housing building. The project faces a major highway on one side, and is typically viewed from a perspective of passing by rather than straight on. In response to this we have designed colourful ‘fins’ that project from the facade, creating visual interest for passerbys, and creating a buffer to the traffic below. RHA is currently moving forward on the design development phase for the supportive housing building.
